Urgent Care vs. Family Medicine – Know Your Options
If you’re unsure which to choose:
- Choose Urgent Care when it’s not a life-threatening emergency but needs timely attention.
- Choose your Family Medicine provider when it’s about long-term health, follow-up, or preventive care.
| Situation | Best Option | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You need care now for an unexpected illness or injury and want to walk in | Urgent Care | No appointment required; quicker access |
| You’re looking for ongoing management of a chronic condition, preventive care, or want to see your usual provider | Family Medicine Clinic | Primary care continuity, comprehensive services |
