2026–2027 Interview Season Information

Application Process:

All applications must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

Application deadline: October 16, 2026
Interview season: October 19 – December 17, 2026

Interviews will be conducted using a hybrid format, offering both virtual and in-person options.

Interview Format Overview

The evening social is open to all interviewed applicants, including those who interviewed virtually. We strongly encourage spouses, significant others, and family members to attend to experience the community and connect with residents and their families in an informal setting.

Community Visits

We recognize that selecting a residency program involves both professional and personal considerations. We are pleased to arrange visits when it is feasible.

Thalamus Information

We utilize Thalamus as our official interview management platform. All interview invitations, scheduling notifications, and program communications will be sent through Thalamus-generated email.

Both virtual interviews and interview-day communications are conducted exclusively within the Thalamus system. Applicants are strongly encouraged to monitor their email (including spam or filtered folders) to ensure timely receipt of all correspondence.

Resident Eligibility and Selection Criteria

Our program adheres to the following selection standards:

• Applications are accepted only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Applicants must coordinate submission directly through their medical school.
• International Medical Graduates (IMGs) must have passing scores on USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 at the time of application.
• Applicants should be no more than two years from graduation from medical school at the time of application.
• Three letters of recommendation are required. At least one letter must be from a Family Medicine physician with whom the applicant has worked directly.
• IMGs must demonstrate fluency in both written and spoken English.
• Our residency program does not sponsor or support visas of any kind.
• IMGs must verify that their medical school is approved for licensure in Idaho through the Idaho State Board of Medicine. Applicants may contact the Board directly at (208) 327-7000. If a medical school is not approved for licensure in Idaho, the application cannot be considered.
