Rory Cole, MD

University of Washington School of Medicine – Idaho WWAMI program

Hi Everyone! My name is Rory Cole and I was born and raised in Hailey, Idaho. I am really excited to be an Idaho family med doc! After growing up in Idaho, I moved to Baltimore, MD, where I went to Johns Hopkins University for college. I majored in Materials Science and Engineering and played college basketball there – Go Hop! Afterwards, I spent a year in LA working as a medical assistant in a primary care clinic. When it came time for medical school, I knew I wanted to be closer to home and was super excited to go to the University of Washington Idaho-WWAMI program where I was able to participate in their rural training program. During medical school I was able to spend time coaching girls basketball, doing reproductive health and gender affirming care advocacy, and fly fishing! My interests in family medicine include OB, sports medicine, underserved medicine, and healthcare advocacy.

When I’m not in the hospital or clinic, you can find me hiking with my cartoon dogs (Arlo and Bowie), riding my mountain bike (slowly!), backpacking, fly fishing, or playing basketball with my partner Lexie.
