Hi, I’m Katie! I grew up in Michigan before heading to Maine for undergrad at Colby College, where I studied anthropology and global studies. I spent time abroad in South Africa and India doing public health work, and focused my studies on reproductive health and medical anthropology.

While working in the Bay Area after college, I fell in love with the outdoors and health advocacy, and pursued a master of public policy degree at the University of Michigan. I had an aha moment during my masters and decided to shift towards a career in clinical medicine. After a year-long pre-med postbac outside of Philly, I made my way back to the mountains for medical school in New Hampshire. Back on the east coast, I found my place in medicine through rural primary care rotations in Alaska, Maine, Vermont, and New Mexico. I continued my advocacy efforts by serving on the Vermont Medical Society as a student representative, volunteering at the local free clinic, and supporting a community-based primary care initiative. My interests in medicine include caring for underserved populations and the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as reproductive health, wilderness and austere medicine, addiction medicine, and street medicine.
In my free time, I can usually be found outdoors doing some combination of rock climbing, trail running, road biking, backpacking, or canoeing. My favorite indoor activities include playing music or cooking with friends, reading, and crafts like embroidery and knitting. My partner Skye and I are so excited to explore a new place together, and I can’t wait to join the community at Full Circle Health and train to be a full-spectrum rural family doc!
