University of Washington School of Medicine – Idaho WWAMI Program
Hello! My name is Kassie and I’m from Meridian, ID. My love for medicine first began in the classrooms of Meridian High School where I participated in their sports medicine program and where I first learned human anatomy and biology. From there, I attended Boise State University for undergrad. While working towards a degree in Health Science Studies, my love for the sciences grew even more. I also met my wonderful husband Matt along the way. After graduating, I worked as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant before pursuing a second degree in Medical Laboratory Science from Idaho State University. I had a wonderful experience working in the lab as a Generalist, but my love for patient care was ultimately the driving force towards my end goal of medical school.

I completed medical training at the University of Washington through the Idaho WWAMI program. By spending many of my clinical rotations in smaller communities, I was able to further explore my interests in rural medicine and healthcare in underserved communities. Some of my other professional interests include wilderness medicine, healthcare advocacy, women’s health, addiction medicine, and sports medicine. I chose family medicine to provide full spectrum care to patients while helping them achieve their health goals.
Outside of medicine, I can be found outdoors no matter the season! Backpacking, snowboarding, golfing, hiking, and white-water rafting are a few of my favorite hobbies. I am also an avid traveler and love to explore new places and try new food. I am thrilled to be returning to my home community in Boise for residency.
