Emma Fitzsimmons, MD

Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth

Hello! I’m Emma and I hail from small-town Vermont. I grew up playing in the mountains of New England and that love, combined with a curiosity for new languages, cultures, and cuisines, resulted in a decade of intertwined travels and educational experiences. I’ve had the privilege of calling rural France, Argentine Patagonia, the Oaxacan coast of Mexico, and the Pacific Northwest “home” at one point or another. Wherever there are inspiring landscapes, warm people, and cold winters seem to fit the bill.

After graduating from the University of Vermont with a degree in Global Studies, I made my way to Seattle, Washington. There, I worked for the University of Washington in socio-clinical research, focusing on improvements in HIV care and social drivers of health. My phenomenal patients sparked my interest in clinical medicine and the ensuing pivot to a career as a physician. I attended the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire where I solidified my interest in longitudinal patient relationships and primary care and discovered new loves like obstetrics, critical care, palliative medicine, and so much more.

Outside of medicine I love to ski, run, backpack, write, putz in my garden, and host ridiculously opulent potlucks. I am overjoyed to be joining the FCH – Boise community to train as a true full-spectrum Family Physician!
