Dr. Edgar Sanabria was born and raised in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. After graduating from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras in 2016, he gained valuable clinical experience working in underserved areas like Puerto Cortés and El Progreso. These experiences exposed him to the challenges patients face when access to healthcare is limited and underscored the importance of primary care in improving health outcomes, especially in resource-poor settings. These early experiences shaped his approach to patient care, focusing on compassion and accessibility.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Sanabria has volunteered as a medical interpreter and physician with Faith and Humanity Medical Missions, a U.S.-based nonprofit that brings medical care to rural communities in Honduras. This role has further deepened his understanding of healthcare disparities and the importance of providing care where it’s needed most. Dr. Sanabria has also had the opportunity to gain clinical experience in the United States, which has broadened his understanding of diverse patient populations and reinforced his commitment to holistic patient care. Outside of medicine, he enjoys running, playing chess, and playing the piano, and stays active through strength training.
