Dr. Cali McAllister was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and raised in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. She attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a graduate degree in tropical medicine and medical microbiology. For medical school, she attended the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine, where she received her MD as well as a certificate in rural health. From the beginning of her medical school journey, she has been committed to working with children in rural and underserved populations.
Not only does she enjoy being able to interact with kids from different cultures and demographics, but she also has a passion for public health, microbiology, and vaccinology. She is excited to learn from the children of Treasure Valley and the state of Idaho during her three years as a pediatric resident at PRI.
After residency, she hopes to practice in a rural setting to help bring resources to traditionally underserved and Native populations. Her favorite activities include spending time with her partner, Wai, and their two dogs, Luna and Kua. On her free time you will find her outdoors or abroad traveling, surfing, diving, fishing, swimming, and hiking. She looks forward to exploring this beautiful area and getting to know the people that call this place home.
