John Bingham

John Bingham graduated from the College of Idaho, Caldwell, Idaho (1971) with majors in Business and Economics. He received his master’s degree in health care administration from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia in 1978. He worked for Hospital Corporation of America as a Hospital CEO in West Texas (1978-1984). He was CEO of Magic Valley Regional Medical Center, Twin Falls, Idaho (1984-1998). He worked for Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee (2000-2007). In 2007 he became Chief Quality Officer and vice-president of Performance Improvement for the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas. He provided senior leadership for quality; systems engineering; patient safety; patient experience, and patient education.

He served on national quality committees and boards including the University Health System Consortium (UHC-a nonprofit organization of university teaching hospitals) Quality Committee; the Consortium of Comprehensive Cancer Centers for Quality Improvement (C4QI) Board, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Quality Steering Committee. In 2021, he retired from MD Anderson and moved to Boise, Idaho. His passion is to continuously improve healthcare through the application of quality improvement and high reliability science to health care organizations.
