Idaho’s First Pediatrics Residency Program Takes Root at Full Circle Health

[Boise, ID] – Full Circle Health is proud to lead a historic advancement in Idaho’s healthcare landscape as the home of the state’s first-ever pediatrics residency program.

Recently featured by the University of Washington School of Medicine, the Pediatrics Residency of Idaho (PRI) represents a transformative step forward in training the next generation of pediatric providers, while expanding access to care for children and families across the state.

As part of a Teaching Health Center model, PRI offers a community-based approach to medical education that emphasizes primary care, continuity, and real-world experience. Residents train directly in clinical settings, care for diverse patient populations, and participate in dedicated rural rotations, preparing them to meet the unique needs of Idaho’s urban and rural communities alike.

This model is already making an impact. Early outcomes show residents choosing to continue practicing in rural and underserved areas after graduation, helping address Idaho’s critical shortage of pediatric providers and strengthening the long-term health of local communities.

At Full Circle Health, this program reflects our commitment to advancing medical education, improving access to care, and investing in the future of healthcare in Idaho. PRI is not only a milestone for our organization – it’s a meaningful step forward for children and families across the region.

We are incredibly excited to be celebrating our first inaugural class of the PRI program this coming June and we invite the community to join us as plans are announced in the coming months.
