Makala Knutson, LCSW
Makala received her Master’s degree in social work from Boise State University in 2018, having completed her internships through Full Circle Health and the outpatient behavioral health department at the Boise VA Medical Center. Her professional experiences prior to graduate school include working in a residential setting with adolescents experiencing houselessness and family crisis, international research, and working with people at end-of-life. Makala is passionate about social justice and supporting people in their healing journeys, recognizing that a sense of safety and the opportunity to openly explore one’s strengths, hopes, and life experiences are key to that process. She has completed a variety of training programs focused on trauma-informed care and grief, and she is excited to continue learning about somatic approaches to therapy. When she’s not working, you can find her enjoying time outdoors with her spouse, their son, and their two bully-breed rescue pups. She loves travelling, live music, and trying new foods.
